Teen Hospitalised After Doberman Dog Attack in Bexhill Park: Police Hunt Woman Owner

A 16-year-old boy was injured in a terrifying dog attack at Barack Hall Park in Bexhill on the evening of Saturday, June 7, prompting a public appeal from Sussex Police to trace a woman in connection with the incident.

Teen Bitten While Playing Basketball

The teenager was playing basketball at approximately 7:30 p.m. when two large dogs, believed to be Dobermans, launched an unprovoked attack. Witnesses reported that the animals bit the boy on the arms and legs before being restrained by bystanders.

The boy’s father drove him to hospital, where he received treatment and was later discharged. He is now recovering at home.

Owners Verbally Abusive, Fled Scene

Witnesses said that the dogs’ owners were abusive to those who tried to intervene and left the park shortly after the attack, without offering assistance or exchanging details. Sussex Police are now looking to identify a woman believed to be connected to the dogs involved.

“We’re keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has information about the dogs or their owners,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said.

Appeal for Witnesses and Footage

Sussex Police are urgently requesting:

  • Mobile phone footage
  • CCTV from nearby homes or roads
  • Dashcam recordings from passing vehicles
