Heroic worker leaps to aid man hurt in Reading brawl under railway bridge

Brave first aider saves the day

A quick-thinking employee at Bowl Central Reading dashed to help after a violent fight left a man injured. The tussle, believed to involve two homeless men, happened beneath the railway bridge on Caversham Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Tia, a trained first aider and staff member, spotted the scuffle from inside the bowling alley. Without hesitation, she ran outside and gave crucial first aid until emergency services arrived.

Manager hails Tia’s courage

“She was fantastic,” said the venue’s manager. “Her instincts kicked in – she jumped to the rescue of someone in need. We think it’s admirable she acted when others might have been too afraid.”

He added it was important for the business to support the local community, especially during emergencies.

Police step up investigations

The scene outside the bridge remains cordoned off as Thames Valley Police continue inquiries. Multiple police vehicles and an ambulance responded swiftly to the incident near Pure Gym.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service declined to comment on individual cases.
