Rushey Green in Catford remains closed this morning following a serious knife incident that police say may be fatal. Officers have taped off the road and are investigating. The closure has lasted for hours with no word on when it will end.

 

 


Crime Scene Blocks Key Catford Route

  • Road shut both ways between A205 Catford Gyratory and Honley Road/Wildfell Road
  • Police presence with multiple cordons in place
  • Bus routes 54, 75, 136, 185, 199, and 208 are being diverted
  • Traffic reportedly slow but coping so far

No Updates From Emergency Services Yet

Despite the ongoing investigation, emergency services have not released further details. Police continue to guard the scene closely. Drivers and residents are urged to avoid the area.

 

 

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:

“We were called at 3.05am today (15 October) to reports of a stabbing on Rushey Green, SE6.

“We sent resources, including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and a paramedic from our tactical response unit. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.

“Our first paramedic arrived on scene in less than three minutes.

“We treated a man and took him to hospital as a priority.”
