EasyJet Flights to Spain May Face Disruption at Gatwick Due to Cabin Crew Strike

Travellers flying with EasyJet between the UK and Spain later this week are being warned of possible disruption due to industrial action by cabin crew based in Spain.

The strike action is scheduled to take place from Wednesday 25 June to Friday 27 June, with up to 650 flight attendants expected to participate in the walkout.

The industrial action affects Spanish-based EasyJet crew members, raising concerns over potential delays and cancellations for flights between Gatwick Airport and several destinations in Spain, including Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, and Alicante.

Airline Response

Despite the threat of disruption, EasyJet has stated it intends to operate its full schedule during the strike period. However, passengers are advised to check their flight status before travelling to the airport.

An EasyJet spokesperson said:

“We are doing everything possible to minimise any impact. Customers should monitor their booking online for the latest updates.”

Advice to Passengers

  • Dates affected: Wednesday 25 June to Friday 27 June
  • Airports impacted: Gatwick (UK) and multiple destinations in Spain
  • What to do: Check your flight status via the EasyJet app or website
  • Plan for delays: Allow extra time at the airport and prepare for changes

Background

This industrial action comes amid broader disputes over pay and working conditions for EasyJet’s Spanish cabin crew. The strike is being organised by USO, a Spanish trade union that has staged similar walkouts in recent years.

Gatwick is EasyJet’s largest UK hub, with dozens of daily departures to and from Spain. Travel experts say that while EasyJet’s operations team may reassign UK-based crew to cover some routes, disruption remains likely if the strike proceeds as planned.
