Murder Investigation Launched After Teenager Shot Dead in Enfield
A murder investigation has been launched after an 18-year-old man died from gunshot wounds following a shooting on Great Cambridge Road in Enfield on Thursday night.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 8:45pm on 26 June, following reports of gunfire in the area. Officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service found the teenager critically injured.
Despite immediate medical attention and transfer to a nearby hospital, the victim tragically died from his injuries.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist family liaison officers.

Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, borough commander for Enfield, expressed her condolences:
“I am saddened to hear that a young man lost his life last night. My thoughts are with his family and friends who will be processing this news today.
We want to reassure the community that this appears to be an isolated incident and a thorough investigation is underway.
An incident like this is deeply concerning, and we recognise the impact it can have on residents. Officers will remain in the area over the coming days — please speak to them if you have concerns.”

- A crime scene remains in place, with Great Cambridge Road closed while forensic and investigative work continues.
- Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the enquiry and have urged witnesses to come forward.
