The West Malling community is united in grief as it mourns the loss of a motorbike rider known as Scott, whose tragic death has left an indelible void in the hearts of his friends and loved ones. The scene of the fatal crash has become a place of remembrance, adorned with flowers and touching tributes in his honour.
One heartfelt message, left by a close friend, poignantly reads:
“Scott. No words to describe the hole you have left in our hearts. Just doesn’t seem right. Can ride tree now sausage! See you on the other side. Ford, Mel, and Kids.”

These words speak to the profound sense of loss and sorrow felt by those who knew and loved Scott. The affectionate nickname “sausage” suggests a bond of camaraderie and shared experiences, making his absence all the more poignant for his friends and family.

Tragically, his journey was cut short when his bike collided with a traffic light at a pedestrian crossing. Scott, a man in his 40s, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) has taken charge of the investigation into this heartbreaking incident. The collision transpired at approximately 5:50 pm on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
Authorities are now appealing to the public for assistance in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the collision. Witnesses who observed the incident or may have seen the motorbike before the collision are urged to come forward.
