Teen Fights for Life After Islington Double Stabbing

Just past midnight, police were scrambled to Essex Road, Islington, after reports of a violent brawl between several men.

A 17-year-old boy was found with serious stab wounds and rushed to hospital in a critical condition. He is currently battling for his life.

His friend, also 17, turned himself into hospital with stab injuries that are not life-threatening.

Catford Horror: Man Dies as Police Probe Two Knife Attacks

At 3am, emergency services responded to a stabbing on Rushey Green in Catford. A man in his 20s was stabbed and treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital, where he later died.

Shockingly, just five hours later at 8am, police were called again nearby at Mountsfield Park where another man was stabbed and taken to hospital. His condition remains unknown.

Officers are investigating whether the two Catford stabbings are linked.

Community in Fear as Violence Spirals

Locals are terrified after the twin attacks.

“It’s getting worse lately. You can see gangs dealing drugs. Night time is too much,” said neighbours Isabel and Tony. “I have a 20 year old daughter and I’m always scared when she says, ‘Mum, I’m going to meet my friend.’”

The man who died has not been named, but friends say his family is “broken” by the loss.

No arrests have been made in any of these chilling incidents. Lewisham Borough Commander Trevor Lawry said:

“Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young man who have lost someone they love in such a tragic way. A dedicated homicide team is working hard to piece together what happened this morning.”
