Major Delays Hit Eurostar After Person Struck by Train Near Lille
Eurostar passengers are facing severe delays and cancellations this evening after a person was struck by a train on the LGV Nord high-speed line near Lille, France.
The incident has caused significant disruption on cross-channel services, halting operations at London St Pancras International and Gare du Nord in Paris.
A Eurostar spokesperson confirmed:
“Services to and from Paris are currently experiencing significant delays, with some cancellations, following an incident on the LGV Nord high-speed line this afternoon, where a person was struck by a train. Disruption is expected to continue for the rest of the day.”
Delayed Departures Begin to Resume
The 4:12pm departure eventually left at 6:39pm, followed by the 4:31pm service at 6:50pm, though further knock-on delays and cancellations are expected throughout the evening.

Eurostar has issued guidance for affected customers:
