Man assaulted while trying to stop car thieves in Hawkinge – UKNIP

 

Witnesses are being urged to come forward after a man was assaulted while trying to prevent the theft of his car.

The incident happened in Millfield, Hawkinge, shortly after midnight on the morning of Sunday 19 April 2020.

It was reported that a group of four men driving a silver or green 4×4 had attempted to tow away a black car before the owner of the vehicle ran out of his house to stop them.

He is then reported to have been punched and thrown to the floor before being stamped on several times. The offenders then drove away from the scene and abandoned the victim’s car nearby.

The victim suffered injuries to his face, ribs and back but has since been discharged from hospital.
