Missing Kayakers found safe a well after large scale search

A search that sparked the launch of 2 lifeboats and 2 Coastguard Rescue Teams has ended in a positive outcome. Teams were scrambled to conduct a search of Whitecliff Bay in Bembridge this afternoon (Thursday) after a pair of kayakers were reported missing at sea. The call prompted a large scale search to be launched. Bembridge RNLI’s All Weather Lifeboat and Inshore Lifeboat were both put to sea in the area of Whitecliff Bay and Sandown Bay, with Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team on land either side of Culver Down carry out a land search Both kayakers – a male and a female – have been located safe and well by HM Coastguard.
