Police have launched a murder investigation following a fatal stabbing in Lewisham overnight.

Young Man Dies After Early Morning Attack

At 3:06am on Wednesday, 15 October, officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Rushey Green. Emergency services found a man in his 20s with stab wounds. Despite treatment at the scene and being rushed to hospital, he tragically died.

The victim’s family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

“Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young man who have lost someone they love in such a tragic way,” said Borough Commander Trevor Lawry. “I know the community will have concerns following this incident. A dedicated homicide team is working to piece together what happened this morning. If you have any information, please come forward. A crime scene will remain in place for several hours, and we thank local residents for their patience.”

No arrests made so far. Formal identification and a special postmortem are planned.
