Lincolnshire Police are urgently seeking information from the public as they investigate a concerning incident involving a suspicious man in Alford. The incident occurred in the Hamilton Road area on Thursday, July 13, around 17.20 where the man was observed approaching young children.
The man is described as having ginger hair, approximately 50 years old, and was reportedly wearing a hi-vis jacket. Disturbingly, he approached two young boys, and according to witnesses, managed to handcuff the youngest child. It is believed that the man was impersonating a police officer at the time.
Fortunately, the boy’s mother became aware of the situation and intervened, causing the man to quickly flee the scene. Law enforcement authorities are treating this incident with the utmost seriousness and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding it.
In an effort to gather more information and advance their investigation, the police are appealing to the public for assistance. If anyone witnessed someone matching the description mentioned on the day in question, possesses CCTV footage that could aid in identifying the individual, or has any information that may be relevant to the case, they are urged to come forward and contact the authorities.
