Residents Claim that they do not feel safe in Portsmouth Cladded Tower Blocks

A fire safety event  held in Portsmouth  as the council continues to remove cladding from two of its tower blocks aired views from a number of residents who made claims that they feel the council are not doing enough and some still do not feel safe in the tower blocks.  A resident claimed that fire windows do not work and have not worked for over 10 years on some floors nor does the  emergency lighting work. https://youtu.be/qDDBPPh7GrQ   A spokesman for Hampshire fire and rescue said that this has been picked up and was being work on following their inspection at Lymington House. https://youtu.be/z2q-ykD_7x8     Residents  discussed fire safety concerns with the council and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service at the city’s New Theatre Royal  in Portsmouth.   Independent testing carried out – after the Grenfell Tower disaster – found that cladding on Horatia and Leamington House in Somerstown was a fire risk despite the council writing to resident claiming that the towers were not affected. https://youtu.be/HB7-4kFrTKE
