Yesterday evening, 60 firefighters and eight fire engines rushed to the scene of a fire at a restaurant on Pont Street in Belgravia.
Fire crews were scrambled just after 11 pm on Thursday evening. Following reports of a large amount of smoke and flames in the roof area near the hotel.
Before the London Fire Brigade arrived, seven customers and six restaurant employees had fled.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used fire escape hoods on one woman and one man who were led to safety from the third floor of the building.
Paramedics from the London ambulance service are being supported by HART teams along with an aerial ladder specialist drone teams from the London Fire brigade.
Road closures have been put in place and a fire investigation team has launched an investigation into the cause of the blaze.

Part of the building’s basement was damaged by fire, and the extraction system from the basement to the roof level was destroyed.
Fire escape hoods shield the public from four major fire gases: carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen chloride, and acrolein for up to 15 minutes.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson confirmed that they were called to the scene at around 10.40pm and the fire was under control by 2.09am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said:
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at a restaurant with dwellings above on Pont Street in Belgravia.
Part of the basement of the building was damaged by fire. All of the ducting (extraction system), from the basement to the roof level, was destroyed in the blaze. Six staff and seven diners left the building before the Brigade arrived.

Fire escape hoods provide members of the public with up to 15 minutes protection from four of the main fire gases (carbon monoxide, hydrogen cyanide, hydrogen chloride and acrolein) and can be worn by conscious or unconscious people. If more than 15 minutes protection is required then another hood can be given to each wearer. They do not provide oxygen but temporarily filter toxic smoke to make breathing easier.
The Brigade was called at 10.40pm and the fire was under control by 2.09am.
Fire crews from Chelsea, Kensington, Soho and Lambeth, Euston, Chelsea and Fulham fire stations were at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
