Bestwood neighbourhood officers collaborated with the City North Operation Reacher team to carry out a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant.

Officers armed with a search warrant began searching an address in Walgrave Walk, Bestwood, around 9 a.m. yesterday (17 January), acting on intelligence about drug-related activity.

Officers searching the house discovered and confiscated some suspected Class A drugs.

Three men, ages 30, 40, and 40, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and possession with intent to supply.

All three have been interviewed and released pending further investigation.

“Yesterday’s warrant resulted in us disrupting drug activity but also removing Class A drugs from our streets,” Bestwood Sergeant Katie Taylor said.

“I hope this sends a strong message to those involved in drug-related activity in the Bestwood area that we are aware and taking action to make sure people in the community are kept safe.

“It also demonstrates how committed we are to improving the Bestwood area for everyone in the community and ensuring they feel safe and heard.

Any drugs found during warrants like this one, no matter how much, means we’re taking them off of our streets and tackling the issue head-on but most importantly we know that drug activity brings with it other crime that causes misery for residents in the community.

“I want to ask anyone who has any information on drug-related activity to get in touch with us by either speaking to a patrolling officer or calling 101. Your information could be the deciding factor in an investigation or assist us in removing drugs from the streets.

If you have any information, please call 101, 999 in an emergency, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.
