Two women are in a life-or-death battle after a nasty head-on collision on the A350 near Lacock this morning.
Serious Smash on A350 at Notton
The crash happened just before 9.15am, around 300 metres north of the Whitehall Garden Centre junction. A grey SsangYong Rexton and a private hire Vauxhall minibus slammed into each other head-on.
Grim Injuries and Emergency Response
- The SsangYong driver, a woman in her 50s, suffered serious injuries.
- A woman in her 40s, passenger in the minibus, was also severely hurt.
Both were rushed to hospital after being stabilised by paramedics, including the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity’s critical care team.
“Our crew were covering Chippenham when they were dispatched to the incident at 09:16,” a GWAAC spokesperson said. “They treated a patient on scene before taking them by road ambulance to hospital for further care.”
The minibus driver was taken to hospital as a precaution but is not thought to have serious injuries.
Road Closure and Police Appeal
As of 5.30pm, the A350 between Lackham and Lacock remains closed for forensic collision investigations and vehicle recovery.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson confirmed:
“Two individuals are in a life-threatening condition following this morning’s collision on Corsham Road, Lacock. The car driver and a minibus passenger have both been seriously injured and taken to hospital. The minibus driver is also in hospital as a precaution.”
