A fatal incident at Welling station has brought Southeastern services to a grinding halt, sparking massive disruption across the network this afternoon.
Tragic Death Halts Trains
- A person was tragically hit and killed by a train near Welling station around 2:40pm today.
- British Transport Police confirmed the death is not suspicious and a coroner’s report is pending.
- First responders attended the scene but sadly could not save the individual.
Travel Chaos and Advice
- All lines between Kidbrooke and Barnehurst stations were shut following the incident.
- Trains on this route were cancelled, delayed by up to an hour, or diverted via Sidcup or Woolwich lines.
- Disruption was expected until at least 6pm before services resumed.
- Commuters were urged to allow extra travel time and check before setting off.
- Valid tickets could be used on London Buses (between London Bridge and Dartford), London Underground (between London terminals), and DLR services between Greenwich, Lewisham, and Woolwich Arsenal.
