The crews tackled the flames with specialised chimney gear and cooled the surrounding brickwork using high-pressure Hosehose reel jets.
Thankfully, no one was hurt.
The blaze is believed to have started accidentally.

Following the scare, firefighters urge homeowners to have their chimneys and flues swept and inspected regularly.
A build-up of tar, Looseloose bricks, or birds’ nests can ignite, sparking serious chimney fires.
