Kent Police have arrested a man in connection with a series of incidents where post boxes across Dartford were painted gold, with one even sporting a black-and-white cow-like pattern.

The unusual spree occurred between Wednesday, January 31, and Monday, February 5, 2024, with the majority of the incidents concentrated in the Temple Hill area. In total, 26 postboxes fell victim to the gold paint, an act classified by Kent Police as criminal damage.

The arrest comes as a result of extensive investigations conducted by local authorities. While the motive behind the golden makeover remains unclear, authorities are treating the matter seriously due to the damage caused.

The arrest serves as a reminder that vandalism, regardless of its nature, carries legal consequences. Kent Police encourages anyone with information about similar incidents or who may have witnessed suspicious activity to come forward and assist with ongoing inquiries.

The identity of the arrested individual and further details surrounding the investigation have not yet been disclosed by authorities.

Updates on the case are expected as the investigation progresses.
